Is it ok to eat nuts such as almonds, pecans, and walnuts on maintenance? Are there any other nuts that are ok to eat on maintenance?
ReplyDeleteNuts are actually starchy. So nuts are not allowed on the maintenance phase of the diet. You have to remember that there are no sugar or starch on the maintenance at all. Fats are allowed in very small amounts (2 tablespoons etc. ... refer to food guide) So not nuts ...nuts!
ReplyDeleteI have a question, are egg substitutes allowed?
ReplyDeleteis soy sauce or store brand chicken broth okay to have?
ReplyDeleteI found a noodle that is comparable to the miracle noodle, but is half the price. It has 0 cal., 0 fat, 0 sugar, and 0 carbs. It is called Shirataki. Ingredients are: water, yam flour, and hydrated lime.
ReplyDeleteIs it o.k. it eat it?
Good Morning!!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if Tilapia fillets are okay (fresh water fish)?
Also, the Melba toast I've been using has Wheat flour in it, is this okay (Sesame flavor) this was all I could find?
And, is Cod fish okay? May I use real lotion on the grace period if I don't add any extra fat to my diet? ( my poor skin is so dry:{)
And, do I have to cut another oz off a tomato to make it 7oz or can I just eat the 6 oz tomato?
And, do I really have to eat all 7oz of the chicken?( I'm about sick of chicken)
One more thing, can I double the milk on the grace period (2 TBS)?
Do I need to increase my workout if I'm increasing my calorie intake?
ReplyDeleteHow many times a week may I have the B-12? ( I'm on my grace period) And how much of it may I have?
Egg subsitute are mainly for vegetarians protocol. We've found that you lose a little slower when you incorporate the egg. You can switch it up every now and again but it can slow down weight loss.
ReplyDeletesoy sauce and chicken broth -
ReplyDeleteI would be sure to look at the back of the ingredients- if it has sugar fat or starch then its not allowed. Soy sauce may just be a salt base which is ok. Just check the lable, if its zeros all the way through then its totally fine.
If the noodle that you found is zeros all the way through. I would see no problem. There are other brands of the miracle noodle. Some are ok and some arent so be sure to look at the lable.
ReplyDelete-Tilapia is not on Dr. Simeons protocol so it is not allowed on our protocol.
ReplyDelete-With the Melba toast you want to stick to very original flavor. ex: wheat, white, sour dough etc.
-Cod fish is not on Dr. Simeons protocol so its is not allowed.
- You must make sure there is only a small amount of fat added into your diet on the grace period. I would stick to the regulations for full benefit of weight loss. Try Ahava Lotion from costco,& christensens. It is a heavier lotion that is mineral oil.
-You dont have to eat all the 7oz on the grace period you can illiminate anything you want. So eating a 6 oz tomato (or 7oz of chicken) would be just fine.
-Doubling the milk to 2TBS is ok.
You can increase the workout on the maintanence or grace period.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being so helpful!!
ReplyDeleteWhere is everyone getting there Wheat, white, sour dough Melba toast? All I'm able to fine is the sesame flavor?
I'm glad to hear we don't have to eat all 7oz, my first double meal I felt like I had just ate Thanksgiving dinner. What is the reason they want you to double everything, because I was just fine with the 3oz of protein and veggies?
Good Morning!!
ReplyDeleteDo we have to use The Walden Farms Dressing ($5bucks a bottle is a litte much) or are there any other dressings out there that we may use?
Also, on the grace period do you double the amount of dressing you use( I 've been using only 2TBS)?
Does anyone know of any food chains that have a HCG menu?
You can illiminate anything you want from the diet. You dont have to eat 7 oz. of chicken if you dont want to. Be sure that you are following the diet strictly. The grace period os just as important as the 40 days in long term results. It probably does feel like thanksgiving dinner huh! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThe walden farms is just a great line that is zeros all the way through. If you can find a dressing that is sugar free fat free cal free oil free then go ahead and use it. Let us know if you find one! Its kinda tough. If the dressings are zeros all the way through it should not matter how much you use, so on the grace period it shouldnt need to change. If you want to do a salad dressing that is sugar free but has a little fat on the grace period that is fine. You are allowed 2 tbsp of oils in the grace period. Refer to your Food Guide and the 1,000 cal chart. (:
ReplyDeleteThank You, Susla!!
ReplyDeleteI think Thanksgiving dinner would be a little better. Pie, cheese ball, stuffing etc. So I guess it wasn't really like eating a turkey dinner. Oh well, I'll just have to look forward to my loading days!!
Where is everyone getting their Melba Toast??
ReplyDeleteWhen you gain the 2LBS on the grace period how many times can you do the large steak and apple?
Which by the way, was worth skiping both meals!!
Is there any chicken broth or soup out there that is okay to have? Something quick and easy to fix. Just wondering, because I haven't found anything that was okay. I would like something fast and easy to cook. The day goes by so quick before you know it, it's time to make dinner. For myself and everyone else.
ReplyDeleteOn the grace period, what kinds of different meat and fruits can we have? I thought we had to stick to the ones listed. Also, are any lunch meats, okay?
ReplyDeleteI found a good mixed seasoning, it has no sugar in it but it does have Tri-Calcium in it. Is Tri-Calcium ok?
ReplyDeleteIs baby oil okay to as lotion because it is mineral oil?
ReplyDeleteMy vitamin C tablets have cellulose and gelatin (maybe) because they are in capsules. Can i use them?
ReplyDeletethe first 2 loading days of the diet, if needed can we take rolaids or tums, seems to me they might be needed :)
ReplyDeleteOn the grace period you can do the steak and apple day as many times needed.
ReplyDeleteThere is a homeade chicken broth recipe on the Hcg Reciped link on the left had side of the blogs front page that you can have. It takes some time to make but if made in large portions can be really handy!
ReplyDeleteThe grace you can have most all kinds of fruit. You can mix your veggies and increase portions to 7 oz rather than 3 1/2 oz. Lunch meats are ok if they dont have a coat of "honey glaze" etc. be sure that they dont have any sugar coated on them. Its hard to really know what some are made of.
ReplyDeleteI dont see a problem with Tri-calcium. Calcium usually comes along with vit.D which is a fat soluble vit. so be careful and check the lable. If not, go ahead.
ReplyDeleteRolaids and tums are fine for the first 2 days ONLY. After the first 2 days avoid them, they have sugar in them.
ReplyDeleteThe cellulose capsules are such a small amount that it probably wouldnt make a difference at all.
ReplyDeleteBaby oil is pure mineral oil and totally works on the hcg diet.
ReplyDeleteso are you saying if our calicum has vit d that we shouldn't take it? i thought you needed Vit D in your calcium in order for it to be absorbed.
ReplyDeleteYou do need vit. D for calcium to be absorbed. If for some reason Dr. Carter told you it was ok to take it, go ahead. In Dr. Simeons he says no fat soluble vit. A D E K. So on the hcg diet you are not to have any of those unless instructed otherwise. If you find calcium without vit. D then it is fine to take. hope that helped. (:
ReplyDeleteHello To All!!
ReplyDeleteI just tried the Liquid Aminos (All Natural)
it is really good. However the Walden Farms Carmel dip I'm not happy with. It also, has corn starch in the ingredients. I didn't notice until I got home with it. So Is this stuff okay or not- does anybody know? It's really not all that great either. But, the Walden Farms strawberry spread is really good!
Susla!
ReplyDeleteCould you list some of the fruits that are okay on the Grace period? Just to give us some ideas on what is okay.
Also, where is everybody getting the Melba toast?
What kind of lunch meats are okay? I'm on the Grace period. (turkey, chicken, roastbeef, ham???)
I've only seen the Melba toast in one flavor.
Susla, is there any candy (sugarfree) out there that is okay to have. (I'm on the grace period)
ReplyDeleteand would like something a little SWEET!!!!
And how much of the sugar-free JELLO is okay?
Susla, Thanks for being so helpful!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning everyone,
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of any large food chains, that are supporting the HGC menu?? I going out of town and need some ideas on where we can eat out...
I got the walden farms blueberry fruit spread, it has sucralose and cellulose gel are the "lose's" sugar, it says it is sugar free?.
ReplyDeletealso i got my melba rounds "classic" at Dixie Nutrition in St George, but the box says they have organic unbleaced wheat flour, organic molassses, instant yeast and soy lecithin are they ok? i read above something about wheat in the melba toast was questionable?
Thanks
Sulsa, are peaches and grapes okay to have on the grace period?
ReplyDeleteWhen you say lunch meat what kind of lunch meat, is okay? And is lunch meat just for the grace period?
What face soap and toothpaste is ok to use?
ReplyDeleteIs it ok to get a flu shot?
ReplyDeleteIs soymilk okay for the 1 TB of milk allowed per day, I use the original light (not the vanilla)?
I marinated my lean steak overnight in Walden Farms Italian dressing then grilled it on the grill. It was very good.
ReplyDeleteSulsa, where are you???????
ReplyDeleteIs it ok to take a sleeping pill, like ambien while on this diet? I am on day 5 and I am having a hard time sleeping, might be because my husband is out of town.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone Know where Salsa is? :(
ReplyDeleteWaldens farms claims to be sugar free fat free cal free in all their products. I would always double check everthing before you use it. Thanks for the great information(;
ReplyDeleteYou want to try to stick to the same fruits, vegtables, and meats on the grace period. You can add in other fruits as long as you weigh them in 1 cup portions. Make sure that you are still staying away from starch (banannas) and sugar completely. Those different meats are ok, just make sure they arent coated in sugar. Remember you are alotted 3 tablespoons of oils so watch that sparingly.
ReplyDeleteYou can get melba toast at dixie nutrition and at harmons.
ReplyDeletesugar free candies sometimes have starch. The crystal lite ones have calories. So check them out. Let us knnow if you find anything good!
ReplyDeleteThe melba toast and the grissini actually does have oils and starch in it. Dr. Simeon allowed these on the diet. We give you the option to have these 2 things if you would like to. It wont ruin the diet to have what Dr. Simeon allowed. Be sure that the you are looking thorougly at the portions and make sure you are having only white, wheat or sour dough. None with garlic or other additives.
ReplyDeletepeaches and grapes are ok on the grace period measured in one cup portion, or one peach. Try to use the same fruits allowed on the 40 days as the staples and then add in others occasionally.
ReplyDeleteFace soap is just fine as long as it foams or bubbles and rinses off. Toothpaste is just fine as long as your not eating it! hah. Although someone did bring in toothpaste and mouthwash with sugar so be sure you check it out!
ReplyDeleteFlu shots are ok to have on the hcg. Soy milk is not allowed.
ReplyDeleteAmbien is ok to take on the hcg diet. Stress can definatley keep you up and unable to sleep. Also if you are taking the appetite suppressant phentermine, it can sometimes keep you up as well for the first little while. If that is the case try taking it early morning to prevent that.
ReplyDeleteWhen looking at lotions, I see glycerin is often included as an ingredient after water and mineral oil. Is glycerin an oil and are these okay? I also noticed my bottle of baby oil has vitamin E. I'm thinking that violates the vitamin rule?
ReplyDeleteHave a question...feeling light headed and extremely tired. Realizing that even though I consume every meal suggested in the correct portion sizes and my water intake is what it should be...my calorie intake is very low. 250-300 calories. Should I be adding more oz. of protein or veggies to my meals to get me closer to the 500 calorie mark or would there be another explanation for the dizziness and exhaustion. Thanks for your help. By the way I am down 6 pounds since Monday (9/28)so its working.:)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure some baby oils have vit. E in them. If so, I probably wouldnt use them. Just be sure to check everything. Glycerin is ok to use.
ReplyDeleteFeeling dizzy and tired are signs of your body releasing toxins, and changing diet routines. If you are following the exact allotted amount, do not add anything in past your regulations. Almost everyone on the diet will feel at some time extreme fatigue. It will get better. Make sure you are taking your potassium to help with the dizziness. You can even take it twice a day to see if that helps. Also make sure you are taking the B12 to help with energy. The symptoms are normal on the diet. Keep going, it sounds like your doing good!
ReplyDeleteIs eating too much fish bad for you? I am really loving the fish on the diet. I am sick of chicken so i am primarly eating fish.
ReplyDeleteWe always recommend that you try to eat differently everyday. Sometimes when you are plateauing, changing up your foods can make a difference. Not having chicken all the time or fish all the time....spice things up! There are a lot of different fish so no worries there! For some reason alot of people say that the chicken nauseates them, who knows what it is? Its common though.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that, I thought it was in my head that chicken nauseated me.
ReplyDeletethanks,
I was just wondering if I messed up tonight. I went to a Chinese restaraunt and ate the right vegetables and meat, but I added some szechwan sauce to it for flavor. Will that mess me up on my diet?
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm just getting started and am sometimes really pushed for time in the afternoons. Can I use the frozen veges steamers that you through in the microwave in their bags, and how does the weight differ from raw.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is Olay Complete body wash, and dove bar soap ok to shower with. Thanks
Is the appetite suppressent a must. Is it something I can take as needed or do I have to take it daily. The med info says you have to be weened off of it slowly. Please help.
ReplyDeleteDepending on where you are on the diet or not. If you have sugar, fat or starch it can set you back about 4-6 days on the diet. Be sure that you are extra careful on the first 23 days. During those days the hypothalamus gland is being retrained and any interuptions during that time can effect your long term weight loss. Usually when you make mistakes its hard to stick to the diet really well afterward. Be sure that you are watching everything you do for the full benefits of the hcg diet.
ReplyDeleteFrozen vegtables can have additives in them like sugar and fat coatings. Thats why we reccomend fresh. If they are frozen fresh they should be just fine. Look at the lable to be sure.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine that the frozen weighs differently than raw. I'm really not sure on how they differ. Try weighing the potion raw and then freeze it and weigh it. Let me know how it worked!> You want to stick to the exact amount listed.
ReplyDeleteDove bar soap is totally fine (:
Olay body wash is not ok. Most of them have moisturizing "lotions" in them, as well as oil. (Hence the name) Anything that is a gel form or soapy substance is ok. Try Dial gel body wash.
The phentermine(appetite suppressant)that you received is a low dose (15 mg) Typically its ok to take it when needed but some people may need to wean off, depending on how their body responds to it. Its given to help suppress appetite. The hcg naturally helps with hunger but if you are struggling with hunger take the phentermine in the morning to prevent it from keep you up at night. You can continue to take it on the grace period as needed.
ReplyDeleteHi - just a couple of questions - is sparkling flavored water ok to drink? Is glycerin a problem in lotions or soaps? I also have a face lotion that has Hydrolyzed wheat gluten as the 12th ingredient - is this ok to use?
ReplyDeleteIs miralax ok for constipation? the mag. isn't cutin it. The only ingredient in miralax is polyethylene glycol.
ReplyDeleteOn the Maintance phase when you can double your calorie intake does that mean you can double the melba toast to 4 per day, they have tasted really good.
Idea for chicken. cut up onions steam in a little bit of water in small frying pan, when the onions get soft add your alloted amount of chicken, spray with liquid smoke, salt and pepper, cover and steam until done. Only takes a few mins. If you eat the onions you have to count them as your veggie. fresh garlic is really good as well, but gives you bad breath.
ReplyDeleteOr you can use rice vinegar instead of the liquid smoke, either taste very good. I am assuming rice vinegar is okay to use because it was an ingredient in a recipe on this web site, Salsa?
on the maintance phase when you double everything to a 1000 caleries can you eat that in any portions through out the day or do you still need to eat at the sametime just double what you ate before.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Salsa? I thought we were supposed to get our questions answered here daily, maybe I miss understood. Salsa how often do you check this site so we know how often to expect you? Then we can make the choice to either wait for your response or call the Doctor's Office.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Are pickles allowed on the HCG diet?
ReplyDelete8 days and no Salsa, hmm
ReplyDeletesorry to everyone on being a little late with answers WWW expo. last thur fri and sat.
ReplyDeletesparkling water is ok as long as it is sugar free. Glycerin is ok to use. Also wheat gluten in a cream is probably not a big deal. Its more oils that you want to watch out for. Hope that helped!
ReplyDeleteQuestions: Is miralax ok for constipation? the mag. isn't cutin it. The only ingredient in miralax is polyethylene glycol.
ReplyDeleteOn the Maintance phase when you can double your calorie intake does that mean you can double the melba toast to 4 per day, they have tasted really good?
Answer: Magnesium can be taking 2 times a day. Using things like benefiber and liquid magnesium are ok to use occasionally. They do have calories so you have to be careful. You wont have a bowel movement for up to a week due to small amounts of food. Its normal. Try doing a benefiber in hot tea every morning to help you system get moving!
Doubling the melba toast is just fine on the grace period.

Rice Vineger is fine just make sure it is sugar free.
Also check your liquid smokes lable. It needs to be fat free sugar free and starch free. Even a tiny amount makes a BIG difference! Always check your lables.
Salsa is mixed veggies, so most salsas arent acceptable on the first potion of the diet.
I wouldnt have salsa at all on the first part of the diet. The grace period you can have mixed veggies and a salsa would be just fine.
ReplyDeleteOn the grace period your portions go to a 100 calories. You may eat your food at any time. You may also mix your veggies and also add in different fruits measured in 1 cup portion. Be sure that you stay away from bananas.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you who have asked questions and not immedietly gotten a response. At least every other day we check the blog to answer questions and put up new posts. If we are not responding for some reason please call the office and ask it. We are open from 9-5 and you will want to call the nurse line. We have made over 50+ posts and cannot possibly go over each one daily. So if you would please post your questions on the most CURRENT POST so that it can be seen immedietly, whether it pertains to it or not. That would be so great! We have been out of the office at the WWW expo for 4 days. Sorry again for the inconveinence. Hopefully you got all your questions answered. (:
ReplyDeletePickles are not allowed. Please refer to your food guide for any food questions. If you need a new food guide stop into our office and pick one up anytime!
ReplyDeletemost current post, where and what is that?
ReplyDeleteThe most current post is on the front page. It should be about water. It just helps us be able to answer quicker and not sort through all the questions! thanks
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm trying to take probiotics becuase absolutly evrything in phase 3 makes me gain and I think it's due to my digestive issues and very bad regularity. It contains soy lecithin however and gelatin, are they ok for maintanence? thankyou so much
ReplyDelete
